Okay, two things:
1) The second entry is absolutely hilarious!!! (And I agree.)
2) Scott Oakland made a great point, IMO. When I was a Presbyterian (PCA) in 1998, the subject of Calvinism vs. Arminianism rarely came up.
Leaving the Presbyterians and joining back up with Southern Baptists, however, is a different story entirely; it's all they talk about (at least the academically-minded).
I think this is one among other problems with the SBC: their theological umbrella is too big. Others may appreciate such diversity, but I am not one of them.

RE: The second entry.
Sometime back, a blogger ranted against Calvinism on a blog that was somehow (my failing memory has indeed failed as to the exact name...)named after John Bunyan and "Pilgrim's Progress." I pointed out the irony. They were not amused.
